"My Lord and my God!"

It is a lazy Sunday, and I'm loving it. :) Today's church sermon really motivated me to spend the day glorifying Jesus, my Lord and Savior. The Holy Gospel was John 20:19-31. This Scripture and the picture along with it, literally sent shivers throughout my body. I'd like to share an excerpt from this Scripture that made me a very proud believer.

"Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe." Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20: 26-29)

We all can connect with Thomas on some level. We're all tempted by Satan's power and I'm sure that every single one of you reading this (I'm guilty too!) have doubted God because he wasn't within our sight. I went through this phase for years until suddenly it hit me, I can see God and His work, everywhere!

Take a minute and absorb your surroundings and memories. What do you see and more importantly, how do you see it? As I look around my living room, I come across various pieces of furniture, artwork, books, movies, and family photographs. These things are very common and are in most living rooms. We tend to get comfortable with what we have, then Satan likes to sneak up and whisper sweet temptation into our ears. Then, suddenly, we want more more more. When we get more, we can't get enough. This happens to everyone at least one point in their lives. The good news is, you can block out this wanting by really looking at your belongings. God has given you everything you see. If you really look, you can see God and His blessings everywhere in your life and the lives of others.
